The reopening of the tourist site Valle de Marte (known as Valle de Muerte “Death Valley”) is announced, with its administration being managed by the Quitor and San Pedro de Atacama Communities.
Valle de Marte, named in honor of Father Gustavo Le Paige, a passionate archaeologist and geologist, captivates with its inhospitable landscapes, filled with rocky formations and salt flats. Through the only internal road that crosses the valley, we embark on a fascinating circuit, surrounded by wind-sculpted sand dunes and rocky slopes that, due to their geological uniqueness, exhibit a reddish hue. This landscape transports us to an experience that resembles the surface of the red planet, all within the territory of Lickanantay.

Consejo de Administración de la Cooperativa Eléctrica de San Pedro de Atacama, tenemos el deber de comunicar la situación del actual suministro de Gas Natural por parte de la empresa que abastece -ENGIE GAS CHILE SPA- que puede ocasionar problemas en la electricidad.
La Cooperativa, como es de conocimiento de la Comunidad y los Servicios Públicos, genera energía eléctrica dependiendo principalmente por gas natural, que nos proveía la empresa ENGIE GAS CHILE SPA.
Que la empresa proveedora de Gas Natural nos informó no continuar con el contrato ni sin posibilidades de acordar cuotas de gas para lo que resta del presente año y el siguiente año 2024, de parte de CESPA informamos que existen la intención de seguir comprando gas para mantener las operaciones de CESPA y así mantener el suministro de electricidad en San Pedro de Atacama.
Esta situación ha sido debidamente informada a los Servicios Públicos, a la autoridad comunal y concejales, al Ministerio de Energía a través de Secretaria Regional Ministerial de la Región, con el Gobernador Regional, en miras de prever esta situación, por su rol de servicio a las personas, para evitar conjuntamente, los cortes de electricidad.
Hemos buscado dialogar con distintas autoridades y funcionarios, sin obtener un plan de acciones concretas para mantener los servicios de la Cooperativa. Es importante recordar que las cooperativas son asociaciones reguladas por la ley General de Cooperativas, supervisadas por el Ministerio de Economía, estando conformada principalmente por Comunidades Indígenas Atacameñas, Junta de Vecinos y Vecinas, y agrupaciones sin fines de lucro.
Todas siempre con el esfuerzo colectivo de mejorar las condiciones y calidad de vida, con principios de solidaridad y ayuda mutua para abastecer cooperativamente el servicio eléctrico en la Comuna de San Pedro de Atacama.
En este espíritu cooperativo es que intentamos buscar soluciones concretas con los servicios públicos competentes, porque la única negativa para comprar y abastecer de gas natural es por la empresa ENGIE GAS CHILE SPA, el cual no ha informado con su debida antelación que no quiere trabajar con la cooperativa, en consecuencia, buscar un nuevo proveedor en el corto plazo es algo complejo, el cual no hubo respeto de continuar con un proceso de transición para no afectar el servicio eléctrico en la comuna, para el día de hoy ENGIE GAS CHILE SPA nos informa el corte del suministro de gas natural a partir de las 6:00 horas del jueves 23 de noviembre de 2023.
Por lo anterior, informamos respetuosamente a todos los usuarios que podemos enfrentar eventuales cortes en el suministro eléctrico principalmente de 18:00 a 23:00 horas punta de consumo energético siendo lo más complejo durante el día, se le solicita a la comunidad en su conjunto disminuir sus consumos durante esas horas al mínimo posible o solo lo estrictamente necesario, durante la horas de luz de sol no tenemos complicaciones para que el pueblo tenga la energía necesaria para funcionar gracias a nuestra planta fotovoltaica, además informar que con la municipalidad de San Pedro de Atacama estamos trabajando en un plan de contingencia para no afectar el suministro eléctrico donde existe una mayor demanda, ade áiterando la necesidad de disponer de medidas administrativ s para ar situaciones complejas, la electricidad es un servicio bási o para las familias, considerando también que la comunidad ha venido soportando los altos costos en su acceso.
Cooperativa Eléctrica de San edro de Atacama continuará haciendo sus mejores esfuerzos, de forma permanente para disponer de soluciones concretas de los servicios públicos competentes.

No visitors are allowed in the rooms of guests. Visitors may stay in the garden area.
